With such a disastrous 2016 thanks to the Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery fiasco and lack of notable updates to its flagship phones, Samsung could use a home run. Their best chance at doing that will be with the Galaxy S8, and the heavily leaked smartphone is already looking like it could be a huge win all around. Here’s everything you need to know.

It won’t spontaneously explode

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 was the most public and widespread example of battery failures ever to hit smartphones. The recall cost the company big time, not to mention the lawsuits. But you have to give credit to Samsung, because they totally revised their battery testing procedure to make sure none of its future phones go boom in your pocket, or anywhere else for that matter.

It’s going to have a ton of features you haven’t seen before

If there’s one thing there’s no shortage of on the internet it’s Samsung rumors, and the Galaxy S8 has more than its fair share. We don’t know much for certain — that’s kind of what rumors are all about, after all — but based on reports from some pretty reliable leakers, here’s what the Galaxy S8 is likely to feature:

4K display — Super sharp, super detailed, and better than any smartphone display you’ve ever seen.

Curved display — Samsung has made curved displays in the past, and those in the know say the S8’s screen will be curved in both sides.

Dual-lens rear camera — Okay, so the iPhone 7 Plus already has a dual-lens camera, and Samsung is no stranger to adopting Apple trends, so this one seems pretty likely.

Iris scanner — This one has been on the rumor lists for a while, and while some reports say the eye-scanning unlock feature is too slow or glitchy to be useful, Samsung might have hammered out the kinks.

It’ll come in two sizes

Like the iPhone 6, 6s, and 7, many expert expect the Galaxy S8 to come in two different sizes. Samsung is reportedly going with screen sizes of 5.8 inches and 6.2 inches for its normal and “plus” sized phones, though we won’t know for certain until we see them on stage.

It’s coming out very soon

All signs point to the Galaxy S8 launching shortly, and insider reports claim the phone is scheduled to be announced on March 29th with an official launch on April 21st. That’s right around the corner!
